Jorge began his legal career in 2000 as an associate in the Houston office of the New York-based Weil, Gotshal & Manges, L.L.P., one of the top law firms in the world. While there, Jorge handled wide range of civil litigation matters in dealing with issues such as products liability, complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy & reorganization, intellectual property litigation, and construction disputes. Jorge worked on such high-stakes matters as the Enron and PG&E bankruptcies and related commercial litigation, as well as representing companies such as General Motors and Bombardier in product liability litigation, typically involving catastrophic injuries.
Seeing the advantages that big companies have versus individuals, Jorge decided to use what he learned at the big law firm to help people and small businesses that cannot afford to pay big law firm bills. So Jorge teamed up with Adam Fomby, an experienced personal injury trial lawyer, to establish Borunda & Fomby PLLC, a law firm dedicated to providing best-in-class representation to those hurt by negligence negligent or intentional wrongdoing.
When he is not working, Jorge spends as much time as he can with his wife, Jennifer, and his children, Mateo and Sofia. Alexis, the oldest child in the family, is off at college now.
